What do you need to know about DSSSB EXAM?

DSSSB (Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board) is an organization incorporated in order to recruit highly skilled, competent and capable candidates for various positions in government departments.

Selection is through professional tests, written tests, and personal interviews. Competent persons are hired on the basis of written tests and interviews.

DSSSB tests are divided into four programs: General Post program, PRT, TGT, and PGT programs. The recruitment procedure for DSSSB consists of three Tiers.

Tier one:

General Post: The main types of posts are LDC (Lower division clerk), Steno (Stenographer), Steno-typist, Patwari, Warden, Driver.

Technical Post: Data Entry Operator, Security Supervisor, Librarian, ANM, Assistant Sanitary Inspector, Live Stock and Veterinary Manager. There are also teaching posts like TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher), PRT (Primary Teacher), Nursery Teacher, Lab Technician, Technical Assistant, etc.

Syllabus for test for Tier 1 consists of:

  • Reasoning
  • General Knowledge
  • Numerical and Arithmetic Ability.
  • English Language/ Comprehension
  • Hindi Language/ Comprehension

Tier two:

General Post: Positions of Administrative assistant, Head Clerk and equivalent posts. For this, candidates have to clear Tier 1 and Tier 2 exams.

Technical Post: Wildlife Inspector, Junior Inspector, Section Officer, Motor Vehicle Inspector and equivalent posts.

Technical Post 2: District Staff Officer, Junior Law Officer, Publicity Officer and Welfare Officer grade 2.

Tier three:

General post: Position of Assistant Collector And Assessor, Zonal Revenue Officer and equivalent posts.

Eligibility of DSSSB Exam

TGT:  A degree in Bachelors of Computer Applications or graduation in computer science from a recognized university. A candidate with B.E. or B.Tech in a specific discipline from a recognized university or graduation in any subject with pass in A level course from DOEACC is eligible to take this exam.

PGT: Eligibility is a master’s degree or specialization in an equivalent subject or a Ph.D. in any subject from a recognized university. Any candidate, who has secured first division in post-graduation, graduation, higher secondary along with compulsory training in B. Ed or 3 years experience in higher secondary or college is eligible.
