In contemporary times, almost as a cultural practice, education has reached the level of a rite of initiation in the modern world. Through formal pedagogical training, people acquire reading and writing skills. It is clear that literacy, the ability to read and write, has become a necessity to face the many challenges of modern times. As a strategy to ensure that no child is denied the opportunity to acquire formal education, not sending a child to school is a crime in some parts of the world, especially in Western countries. In addition, some governments help their citizens to acquire formal education, either by subsidizing costs or by making them available for free.
It is impossible to adapt to modern times if you do not go to school. Therefore, education is a necessity and not a luxury. The attitude of people towards education in the contemporary era seems to suggest, faithfully to Platonism, that it is better not to be born than to be educated. The demand for education in different parts of the world is increasing every day in an undeniable way. People make many sacrifices to acquire an education. Parents are ready to give everything to see their children at school. Some people go to foreign countries to acquire quality pedagogical training. The acquisition of formal education has become one of the main priorities of life today.
However, despite the widespread acceptance of formal education around the world, one of the most important questions of education that is often not asked is: “What is the relevance of education for life? convenient? In other words, to what extent is education useful for meeting the challenges of practical life? This question must be asked because the expected impacts of education are missing in the lives of many educated people. One of the great things about this is that education has never stopped improving the standard of living of many graduates.
It is imperative to emphasize that education is a means to an end, but not an end in itself. The implication of this is that education is a process leading to the manufacture of a product. The process is incomplete without the product. It’s the product that gives value to the media. The quality of the process can be deduced from the quality of the product. This goal is the purpose for which (education) to serve (in an ideal situation). Let us justify our assertion that the expected impacts of education are missing in the lives of many educated people by examining a very sensitive aspect of the lives of educated people, their finances.
