The VIT School of Law places a strong emphasis on continuous and active learning, coupled with practical training. It recognizes that legal education goes beyond simply mastering the subject or understanding the various provisions of the law. The goal is the holistic development of individuals into competent legal professionals. The curriculum is meticulously crafted to allow students the option of gaining specialized knowledge and insight in their particular area of interest, while also acquiring a broad understanding of other subjects. To be eligible, candidates must have successfully completed any stream with a minimum overall aggregate of 75% in the qualifying examination mentioned above. However, there are specific relaxations for certain categories:

For applicants belonging to the SC/ST community or those from Jammu and Kashmir/Ladakh and the North Eastern States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura, a 10% relaxation is granted. This translates to a minimum aggregate requirement of 65% in the qualifying examination mentioned above for candidates falling under this category.

The candidate is required to have participated in the CLAT/LSAT or any other widely recognized law test. Furthermore, they should have achieved an impressive score in each component of the test.

Merit list is prepared based on performance in 10+2 and valid CLAT/LSAT score

The shortlisted applicants will be called for counselling

Selection is through merit, 

Based on Higher secondary school marks, 

Group Discussion and Personal Interview performance.

Weightage will be given to candidates who have good scores in National level Law Entrance Examinations i.e  CLAT/LSAT
