ABOUT CUET

The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUET), an all-India examination used for admitting students into both undergraduate and postgraduate programs at various central and state universities across India. For undergraduate admissions, this examination is referred to as CUET (UG)-2023, denoting the Common University Entrance Test for that year.

The CUET (Undergraduate Entrance Test) syllabus includes the following subjects and topics

 

Language Syllabus (English)

  1. Comprehension Passages: To test understanding of passages, their central theme, and the meanings of words used.
  2. Fundamentals of Grammar: Identifying incorrect sentences and filling blanks in sentences with appropriate words.
  3. Vocabulary: synonyms and antonyms.

 

Domain Subject 

As per the Class 12 syllabus only.

 

General Test Syllabus 

Numerical Ability

  • Arithmetic: Topics related to basic arithmetic operations.
  • Number System: Understanding of numbers and their properties.
  • Basics of Algebra: Elementary algebraic concepts.
  • Modern Maths: Contemporary mathematical topics.

General Awareness and Current Affairs

  • Static General Knowledge: Knowledge of historical and general facts.
  • Current Affairs: National and international current events and news.

Logical & Analytical Reasoning

  • Syllogisms: deductive reasoning using statements and conclusions.
  • Logical Sequences: Understanding logical sequences and patterns.
  • Analogies: identifying relationships and similarities.
  • Series: recognizing numbers or pattern sequences.
  • Directions: Navigational and directional questions.
  • Clocks & Calendars: Time-related problems.
  • Seating Arrangements: Arranging people or objects based on given conditions.
  • Puzzles: solving puzzles and logical problems.
 
Note
  1. 40 out of 50 questions are to be attempted in all subjects, including languages. The duration of the test will be of 45 minutes.
  2. Except in subjects i.e., accounting, economics, physics, and computer science/informatics practices, chemistry, mathematics/applied mathematics, and the general test, the duration of the test will be 60 minutes.
