Pearson Tests of English

PTE is a computer-based academic English language exam for non-native English speakers, who want to study abroad. This exam is approved by the Australian government for visa applications and accepted by educational institutions in the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland, which includes Harvard, INSEAD, and Yale.

PTE Syllabus

  • The test measures the applicants English speaking, reading, writing and listening ability and grade him accordingly. There is no fixed syllabus for this test, but there are practice papers available for you to understand the exam format. There are three parts:
  • Speaking and Writing are done together, which includes a personal introduction, reading aloud, repeat sentences, describe the image, answer short questions, summarizing the text and para, and an essay.
  • The Reading Section has multiple choice questions, re-ordering of paragraphs and filling the blank spaces.
  • The Listening Section includes summarizing the spoken text, multiple choice questions, highlight the correct summary, select missing word and write from dictation.

PTE Eligibility

  • You should be at least 16 years of age to take this test and it can be given any number of times until you meet the set visa requirements.
